Hey! Most of the strategy pages are mostly opinion. If it's that bad, move it to a separate page. I see nothing wrong with posting your opinion here, as long as it's clearly marked as such. -- fsk

I think the Metaverse is, quite frankly, a waste of time. People who take it super-seriously need to have their priorities re-examined.

There really is no objective way to compare players' abilities without having a head-to-head competition.

Further, I like being able to use mods, and for fairness' sake, the Metaverse must disqualify mods that change game stats.

However, multiplayer would probably not work out to well in GalCiv, because each turn takes a few minutes by mid-game, and that would be too slow.

Actually, GalCiv 2 could move to a model where each player took their turns simultaneously and there was a fixed time limit per turn (say 5 minutes). That's the only way to have playable multiplayer.

Grim-onE: You overlook the Play-By-Email multiplayer option! Anyway a few minutes isn't so unbearable, it's around the 10 minute mark it gets painful

Iztok: Ermmm, GC-2 game pace is not appropriate for a PBEM. It goes tooooo slow. In Stars! an average game is below 100 turns, and only very big games tend to last much over turn 120, but in that time an empire settles, develops and conquers or destroys several dozens of planets, builds and destroys several thousands of small and hundreds of big ships, and reaches the end-tech in two or more of 6 tech branches. Where's GC-2 game at turn 100?

Cheese? Should that be cheats or am I missing an aspect of this game?

It seems that playing whist eating cheese gives players extra hidden benefits this has been particually noted with Stilton and Yarg... OK maybe not but I like the idea, can we keep it as cheese... please?! --91.108.83.117 20:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
