From the Galactic Civilizations Wiki

Hello everyone! This is the first wiki that I have actively participated in, but I am enjoying my time here (and especially in GalCivII!) making and editing submissions from time to time.

I plan on checking out most, if not all, of the wiki pages to see which ones could use some picture additions to them. I recently started to add small icons and pics in some of the entries for a couple of reasons:

• Having the picture of an object or term would make it much easier to relate the definition to an object (eg: the resource icon additions I made)
• Aesthetics: I know that many of you are probably hardcore players of GalCivII and so are most likely just looking for the core information and probably couldn't care about the icons or pictures on the pages that they're on. I beg to differ: I'm sure there are some players who would find it much easier to understand what something is just by seeing the pictoral representation of it on this site (because I only use the same pics that you'd see in-game).

Therefore, one of my long-term goals here on this site is to add small pics where they would be most appropriate. I always make sure that the pics uploaded are small so that dial-up users can load them easily. In addition, I resize them when I feel that the pic would take away value from the page -- in most cases, this means I make the pic smaller.
